MISSION WORKERS SAFE

The resident commissioner in the Solomon Islands reported on July 10 all to be well with the members of the Methodist Foreign Missionary Society in the Solomon Islands. This information is conveyed in a letter received to the general secretary of the society, the Rev. A. H. Scriven, from the office of the Government of the British Solomon Islands. Commenting on the news, Mr. Scriven said that this would mean that Sister Merle Farland, of Auckland, the Rev. A. W. Silvester, of Auckland, and the Rev. J. R. Metcalfe, of Melbourne, were safe and carrying on with their work free from Japanese interference.
