NO PINT BOTTLES

BEER ONLY IN QUARTS

Breweries in Auckland have stopped bottling beer in reputed pint bottles, and in future nothing smaller than the reputed quart bottle will be filled. This was announced by trade representatives yesterday, who said that the sale of reputed pint bottles in Auckland hotels would cease when present stocks were exhausted. This has been done to cut down the use of crown seals, and it is believed that the saving will reach at least 50 per cent, although it may be even more where particular lines were formerly put up in the smaller containers. This step was taken in other centres in the Dominion some little time ago.
