Captain and Mrs. H. Whitefield of Weston Avenue, Mount Albert have received advice that their son' Rodger Herbert Whitefield, aged 17 was drowned when he was washed overboard from a vessel in New Zealand waters. He joined the ship last year as a boy, having been educated at, the Mount Albert Grammar School. His father is captain of a New Zealand hospital ship.
