E.P.S. CONTROL
MR. ALLUM'S POST WHANGAREI CRITICISM (O C.) WHANGAREI, this day. The opinion that it was ridiculous for Mr. J- A. C. Allum to be in control of the district when he was in Auckland and unconversant with Whangarei, was expressed toy Mr. a r Rishworth at last night's meeting of the Whangarei E.P.S. executive. He considered the amalgamation, as nroDO=ed at the Auckland conference -ecentlv would lead to contusion. Mr Allum is visiting \\ hangarei this week to discuss the constitution of the combined organisation of five district E.P.S. controlling bodies on the administrative side. Referring to the outspoken criticism the local E.P.S. chairman, Mr. Tone's said that Whangarei had built lin a fine organisation at the outset, but it had been wrecked repeatedly bv new regulations. The load of disappointment could be lifted and a strong organisation restored if manpower were made available. If Mr. Allum had suggestions for the public benefit he would support them, but rather than sanction anything retrograde he would resign the chairmanship.
