JOCKEY'S DOUBLE WIN
The Auckland lightweight rider, J. McKarla no, brought ofr a double at the M.inauatu - Kangitikei combined hunts meeting at Marton on Saturday, when lie won the Flying and Farewell Hack Hanulcaps on .Mr, (;. \V. .Moore's five-year-old Acre gelding Golden Acre.
Golden Acre was the win favourite for the Flying, and McFarlane brought him througn smartly on the rails in the
straight to win going away, but in The Farewell l.ady Virginia was the favourite. Golden Acre being rated second choice. In this race the rider again waited 011 the leaders to the home turn, and he then brought Golden Acre along with a nicelytimed run on the outside of J3roughton and Lady \ irginia to score rather comfortably.
At the recent Auckland meeting McFarl.me, who has had riding experience abroad, won a double on .Mr. W. Town-
■ 'lid's Radiant Vaals and .Mr. Norman Wade's (Jay I .ally, and he has only to retain his present form to do exceptionally well for himself in the coming season.
