USE OF COUPONS

INVESTIGATION STARTED

Investigation is being made by Government inspectors in Auckland to see if the collection of coupons with the sale of clothing is being properly carried out. Although the great majority of establishments in the retail clothing trade are giving full support to the principle of rationing, and taking every care that all details are observed, it is stated that there have been instances of sales made without coupons, although rationing breaches were considered to be rare in the city. The experience of the retail clothing trade is that the public in general had accepted rationing withour demur, and was prepared to give every assistance in carrying it out.
