SKELTON 25 YEARS ON FIELD PERSONALITIES AT EDEX PARK M.T.P.. defeated by Garrison. 13—9, last Saturday, included 13 Auckland representative football players. ("Jimmy") Aitken. centre threequarter for Garrison, has had a notable athletic career. At Christ's College he was captain of Rugby and cricket, and has been skipper of Waikato representative Rugby and cricket teams too. Which is something of a record in its way. Enjoying an afternoon at Eden Park last week was Lieut. J. C. Brown, forward for Grammar Old Boys and an Auckland representative against Waikato (twice), Northland and Canterbury in 1939. He has had a long spell in hospital since returning last January seriously wounded from the Middle East. He is well on the road to recovery now. Claude is a brother of two other ex-Grammar forwards, Alec and Bob. Watching young Peter in the Garrison— M.T.P. game, "Paddy" Sheehan was an old-time Southern Otago, Grafton and Auckland player. He was for the formation of the Fiji Rugby Union, and was not surprised when a team came from the Islands in 1939 and astonished the Rugby world of this Dominion. winning seven of its eight games and drawing the other. A strong Auckland XV. was defeated 17—11.
