WOMEN CONDUCTORS

We are well satisfied with the progress they have made," said Mr. H. H. Morgan, traffic superintendent 01 the Auckland Transport Board to-day when commenting on the work of the women engaged as tram conductors. Mr. Morgan said that 08 women were now collecting fares and there was no intention at the moment to train any additional staff. Asked what was the public's reaction to the new order, Mr. Morgan said that from all reports received the tram travellers appreciated the work of the women and were willing to give them every assistance. Favourable comment had been received from the travelling public in the form of letters to the department
