STATE MINE IDLE
TRUCKERS STOP WORK UNION REFUSES MEETING <P A.) GREYMOUTH, this day. The Liverpool State mine was idle to-day as a result of a dispute concerning men with limited experience who were alleged to have been put In cavils In preference to more experienced truckers. The truckers asked for a meeting for this morning, but the union officials' refused the request. The truckers therefore decided not to work. The Strongman and James mines resumed to-day. Progress is reported with efforts to cope with the flooding in the Blackball mine and it is hoped that some work will be resumed next week.
