CITY COLLISION
DEATH OF SOLDIER
MOTOR CYCLE AND VAN
Fatal injuries were suffered by a soldier motor cyclist at the intersection of Queen Street with Victoria Street shortly before nine o'clock this morning. The victim was I i*i\.'»to William Albert Hounslow, aged 37, whose wife lives at L'narlton Avenue, Mount Eden, fie was a military dispatch rider. 1 lie deceased was rifling up Queen street at the time and was involved in a collision with a motor van driven by Mr. A. Daw, of Newmarket, an employee of' R. and \V. Hei.abv Limited. The motor cycle was badly damaged. The injured men was taken bv St John ambulance to Auckland Hospital, where he died shortly after admission.
/in inquest was opened this afternoon, and after evidence of identi fication, adjourned sine die.
