LIQUOR PRODUCTION RESTRICTION" URGED After much brisk discussion the following remit from Northern Wai»*oa, _ was adopted by the Farmers' Union conference which concluded yesterday:— "That the Government be requested to provide that the production of facilities for the sale of liquor in New Zealand be restricted for the period of the war. with a view to improving tho officicncv of the war effort and the conservation of grain, sugar and other supplies for essential purposes." The Northern Warvoa delegate emphasised that the resolution submitted was not concerned with the moral aspect, but simply with the matei ial side and quoted official statistics to support his remarks.
