CARPENTER'S CLAIM

£330 DAMAGES AWARDED. After three hours' retirement the jury in the Supreme Court action before Mr. Justice Callan returned a verdict for plaintiff in the action, George William Owen Wilson, carpenter (Mr. Henry), against Thomas J. Farmer, builder (Mr. Goldstine), for damages in respect to an accident, by falling through an open joist flooring when employed on a State house at Meadowbank. The jury awarded £350 general damages, and the agreed £298 special damages, adding a rider that, in its opinion, the negligence found was due to defendant's foreman having had too many jobs under his supervision at one time. Mr. Goldstine was granted extended time up to 14 days in which to make application for a new trial, nonsuit.
