SAVAGE REPRISALS
Germans Wipe Out Norwegian
Village L nit ed Press Association.—Copyright. Rec. noon. STOCKHOLM, May 28. A Herman punitive expedition has wiped out the entire village of Televang. on the island of Sotra. "as a reprisal for the Norwegians there shooting the deputy-chief and an other of the Gestapo."' The Germans arrested the whole male population, evacuated their families, killed or sold the livestock, and burned all buildings. In another part of the country 320 Norwegians have been arrested for shooting a Quisling policcman. A hundred hostages have been sent to Germany and the arrest of 80 more is expected, to bring the total to 400, which the Germans originally said they would take for the attack.
