DROWNED IN RIVER
FATALITY AT OPOTIKI (P.A.) OPOTIKI, Tuesday. While crossing the Opotiki River during last evening, Mr. Charles Wirepa. single, aged GG, was accidentally drowned. He apparently reached the opposite bank, but overbalanced when stepping from his boat. People heard a snlash, and saw hands above the water. The Dody has not yet been recovered. Deceased was a brother of Dr. Wirepa, of Gisborne, and Mr. Home Wire Da. of Matamata.
