HOUSEHOLD HINTS

A brisk rub with a clean woollen cloth, wrung out of warm water containing a tablespoonful of ammonia to a pint of water, will clean and renew the colours of the rugs or carpet. Before using flour for pastrv or puddings put. it in the oven for a fewminutes. This will make it lighter and more digestible. Damp flour will never give good results.

Before starting a wool rug stitch the binding round the edge by sewing machine. It makes it strong and much easier to finish off afterwards.
