OBITUARY

MRS. T. G. MASON The death has occurred of Mrs. T. (V Mison. aged 84. of Oparure, the first wuman chemist, to qualify in New Zealand. Mrs. Mason was horn in Birmingham in IS.->S and came t<> New Zealand in 1876. She soon qualified as a nurse, becoming one of the first 12 trained nurses in the Wellington Hospital, and later she was engaged as a dispenser at the Wellington and Palmerston North Hospitals. She married Mr. T. O. Mason, of Masterton. and they went to England. When they returned to New Zealand later they took up farming at Oparure. Mrs. Mason is survived by her husband and two sons.
