COMMISSION GAINED
Advice has been received by Mr. and Mrs. P. Manning, of Telford Avenue, Dominion Road, that their youngest son, Langle.y Frederick, has been promoted tc the rank of sublieutenant. He served three months in H.M.S. Achilles before leaving for England in July, 1941. After taking
an advanced course in radio location work at Portsmouth he was posteci to H.M.S. Edinburgh, which at the time was convoying to Russia. Aped 22 years, he was educated at the Kowhai Junior High School and the Seddon Memorial Technical College. He was on the staff of the Government Tourist Department at Potorua for four years prior to his < n!.. tnr.nt and is well known in that district.
