EMPIRE DAY LUNCHEON
BRIGADIER'S ADDRESS Replacing the annual dinner held usually throughout the British Commonwealth of Nations to celebrate Empire Day, a luncheon was held to-day by the Auckland branch of the British Empire Society, at which representatives were present from the services and also from other societies. Brigadier Dittmer, as the principal speaker, gave an intimate and impressive account of the operations of the New Zealand Division in Greece and Crete. Thanking him on behalf of the society. Professor F. P. Worley, who presided, said that the address had been an inspiration.
