In a letter received by the Hospital Board last night, the present actingmedical superintendent. Dr. W. Gilmour, asked to be released of the position. He said that when he took over at the request of the board there appeared to be nobodv else available Since then Dr. C. B. Gilberd had joined the staff, and had had considerable administrative experience as assistant superintendent. Dr. Gilmour added that it was impossible to do justice to two wholetime positions and considered that it was now necessarv for him to give more time to the laboratory.
The board agreed to Dr." Gilmour's wish and placed on record grateful appreciation of his services during the past two years as acting-medical superintendent.
In reply to a question, the chairman, Mr. Allan J. Moody, said that Dr. Gilberd would automatically move up.
