"CHOPPING BLOCK"
EMERGENCY SERVICE
DISSATISFACTION IN NORTH (0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. Dissatisfaction at the position of the E.P.S. and frequent interference and alteration was voiced by the Mangonui Hospital Board. "There is no finality on the E.P.5.," said Mr. C. J. Barriball. "We make arrangements and then have them upset. It is time we had some finality. Either have a definite plan or cut it all out." Mr. W. Steed: The E.P.S. is just a chopping block for everything else. Unless we can get something definite we should disband. The Chairman, Mr. W. Hoskin: There should be 3 different scheme for the country and the town. We are asked to apply regulations suitable only to places like Auckland. All members were dissatisfied with the conditions, and not inclined to carry on under present chaotic conditions. "At meeting after meeting organisations are planned, get going and then everything is wiped out and new regulations are issued. It is disgusting," said Mr. BarrlPall.
The board will be represented at a conference of Northland E.P.S. representatives at Whangarei.
