CLUBS AND SOCIETIES
Women's League.—The monthly meeting of the Women's League, British Israel World Federation, Auckland branch, was presided over by Mrs. J. H. Wood in the absence of the president, Mrs. Cranston. An address was given by Mrs. McGillNutt, secretary of the branch.
Pemvomen's Club.—An address on "Education in the Army" was given by Mrs. Stevens at the Penwomen's Club. The speaker considered that there should be a properly organised system of education in the army, both cultural and practical and that the men should be encouraged to form clubs, such as debating clubs, among themselves. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Helen Griffiths, Mrs. L. Booth presided. * * * *
Radiant Health.—Captain Billington gave an address on "The Reason of the Compost Heap." The matter of food production, declared the speaker, is the concern of all, not only the farmers and gardeners, but every individual should produce at least one article of food for use. Captain Billington stressed that on the fertility of the soil rested the public health of the future. The president, Mrs. Warder, presided.
