SOLDIERS' CHOIR

FORMATION IN WELLINGTON

(0.C.)

WELLINGTON, this day.

Soldiers in Wellington will soon have a choir to lead their song services. Through the initiative of Corporal W. D. Gorman, Corporal D. P. Conner and Lance-Corporal B. Withers, a choir has been formed, which it is hoped to see about 40 strong.

The choir will have a capable organist-choirmaster in Corporal Withers, who for some time was organist at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral, Wellington. The first soldiers' song service will be held in St. Peter's Church on Sunday evening, June 14. The choir has at least one outstanding song leader in Private M. B. Rossiter, a bass baritone, whose rich voice has been favourably commented on by several visitors from overseas.
