"MARCH OF TIME."
DOMINION FILMS.
VISITING CAMERAMAN. Xcw Zealand, and Australia may soon find themselves in the news —the pictorial news. This fact was mentioned by Mr. Victor J. Jurgens, who arrived from San Francisco by the Honolulu Clipper yesterday afternoon. Mr. Jurgens is a cameraman for the " March of Time " organisation. He is not, he explained, making pictures on this trip, but is " spying out the land " with a view to possible backgrounds for newsreel pictures. All being well, he hopes to return within the next few weeks with full camera equipment, and New Zealanders may, at some time in the future, see their own war effort and industrial activity showing in the local picture theatres. Mr. Jurgens has been led to many outj lying corners of the earth, in his search for news. He has made pictures at Hong Kong and Singapore and the Dutch East Indies. The. people of the Dutch East Indies are distinctly uneasy, said Mr. Jurgens, at the* trend of events, and —perhaps more important—the United States is far from complacent at the precarious position in which one of her most important sources of supply is placed. As for the attitude of Americans towards the war, Mr. Jurgens declared that they were anxious to do everything to help Britain's cause " short of' war." Mr. Jurgens, who was met on arrival by the Australian Trade Commissioner, Mr. C. E. Critchley, will continue his voyage to Australia by Tasman Empire Airways' service to-morrow.
