CRICKET.

UNIVERSITY CLUB. At the annual meeting of the University Cricket Club, the chairman, Mr. W. M. Winter, congratulated the senior B XI. on winning the championship last season, this being the first competition the club has won for many years. Congratulations were also extended to R. H. Bent ley on winning the junior bowling trophy, and to W. Drummond on being awarded the Mathews bat for the fastest century in the opening series last October. It was decided to hold the first practice at the college on October 5. Officers elected:—President. Professor J. Rutherford; vice-presidents. Professors Burbidge, Bartrum and Knight, Messrs. Newbold, Wilson, Lusk, Pee. Hampson. Desborough, Speight, Lunn, Hamilton, Roberts, Lange. Hogben and Armstrong; club captain. Mr. A. Bell; hon. secretary, Mr. W. N. Snedden; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. Armstrong; hon. auditor, Mr. D. R. Garrard; committee. Messrs. A. M. Matheson. W. M. Winter, H. W. Cooper. R. P. Newbold and W. J. D. Minogue; delegate to A.C.A., Mr. A. M. Matheson) selection committee, Mr. A. Bell and team captains.
