SOCCER CHALLENGE.
RETURN MATCH WITH j WELLINGTON. Advice was received this morning by I the Auckland Football Association that 1 arrangements have been completed for a return match for the English Trophy with I Wellington, to be held at Blandford Park on October 5. The sole selector has chosen I the same team as defeated Auckland at [Wellington for the Frank Campbell Rose Bowl three weeks ago. Auckland met Wellington for the English Trophy early in the season and retained the trophy. Congratulations to the sole selector, Mr. F. G. Fullbrook, and the Auckland representative team in retaining the English Trophy in the match against Canterbury last Saturday were extended by Mr. Munro. Se\eral members referred to the high standard of play shown by both teams.
Mr. Fullbrook stated that members of the Canterbury team who had had a wide experience of representative football had expressed the opinion that this high standard was the result of the visit of the English amateur team in 1937. The junior management committee delegate statea that an improved standard of play was also being shown by the primary and secondary schools' teams.
