NOT DONE YET.

SILVER STREAK RETURNS. TO RACE AT OAMARU. When Silver Streak finished out of a place in the Waikouaiti Cup last January it was announced by the Oamaru trainer, T. Hobbs, that Mr. E. H. Aubrey's grand old horse had run his last race. But Silver Streak is apparently not done yet, as he may be tried in the T. A. Munro Handicap at the Kurow meeting to be held at Oamaru. It was in the spring of last season that Silver Streak showed that he had a kick left in him yet, as he was third in the Telegraph Handicap at Wingatui, dead-lieated with Norseman in the Spring Handicap at Gore, and was runnerup to Thermidor in the Kurow Cup. In nine other races he failed. Now 11 years of age, "he is a bay gelding by Paper Money from Fulica. In his heyday Silver Streak won all types of races, shining mainly as a sprinter. His "bag" includes the Stewards' and Members' Handicaps at Riccarton; Railway Handicn-i and deadheat in the Newmarket Handicap at Ellerslie; Metropolitan, Thorndon and Railway Handicaps at Trentham; and the Ashburton Handicap. He was also third in the New Zealand Cup to Cerne Abbas and Wild Chase. One of his surprises a couple of seasons ago was when he beat Defaulter in a sprint at Wingatui. Fulica, a Braxted mare, won three races. She also produced a useful sprinter in Silver Coot, but his record did not approach any tiling like that of his brother. T. Hobbs has not had an easy job to keep .Silver Streak going, as he lias been subject to leg troubles. Some seasons ago Silver Streak won the T. A. Munro Handicap.
