Double Wedding.

A charming double wedding took place at St. Matthew's Church, Wellcsley Street, at G. 30 p.m. yesterday, Canon li. G. Coats officiating. The brides were the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Browne, of Norfolk Street, Ponsonby. The .elder daughter, Miss Dorothy Gertrude Browne, was married to Corporal Hugh Ronald John, R.N.Z.A.F., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. John, of Asliburton, whil« the younger daughter, Miss Millicent Rose (Billie) Browne, was married to Mr. Robert Henry Richmond, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Richmond, of Nelson. As the bridal couple left the church, a guard of honour was formed 'by men from the Royal New Zealand Air Force Base, Hobsonville. The elder bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful medieval gown of ivory- eatin. The corsage was made with a high neckline, closing with a row of buttons at the 'back, and long sleeves coming to a point over the hand and finished with buttons. The skirt was made on flowing Princess lines, forming a long train at the back, while the veil of Brussels lace fell from a coronet of white roses. A frock of apricot chiffon cut on medieval lines was worn by the bridesmaid, Miss Jean Porteous, while three roses in the same shade were caught to a short veil on her head. She carried a sheaf of roses.

A little flower girl, Miss Gloria Jackson, wore an anklelength frock of apricot, and she carried a silver basket of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Corporal Jack Hetrick, Royal New Zealand Air Force, Hobsonville, as best man. Ivory satin was also chosen by Miss Millicent Browne, who was given away by her godfather, Mr. J. Ben field. Short ruched puff sleeves and a gathered bodice gave a charming effect, the Princess skirt falling from a high-pointed waistline. The frock wae finished with a Peter Pan collar and self-buttons at the back. The Brussels lace veil was caught to the head with a heart-shaped coronet outlined with orange blossom, while the bride's shower bouquet was of roses and carnations. In attendance as bridesmaids Vere Miss Gwen Bailey and Miss Edna Kostanich, who wore frocks of Marina green embossed satin.. Their veils were finished with deep red roses, and they carried shower bouquets to match. Mr. E. Parris was best man and Mr. T. Bedelph was groomsman. After the ceremony, a reception was held at Hayne's reception hall, Hobson Street, Mrs. Browne receiving her guests in a frock made with an ivory georgette yoke and black velvet skirt. She wore a spray of red carnations in her hair, and carried a bouquet of Ithfe same flowers. Mrs. W. Richmond, mother of the bridegroom, was in a midnight blue frock and hat to match, and her bouquet waa of autumn tints, while his sister,, Mrs. Wynne Smith, of Masterton, chose a deep navy cloque frock and matching
