PLANS FOR VHAXATANE S3 • y ■ " WHAKATANE, Wednesday. Working plans would shortly be. prepared by the Public Works Department for a new post office at Whakatane, said the Postmaster-General, the Hon, P. C. Webb, in an interview. The building, which is estimated to cost £24,400, will be of two storeys and concrete. The greater part of the upper floor will foe occupied by other Government Departments. Mr. Webb said that owing to the necessity of giving priority to urgent defence works it was impossible to state when tenders would be called.
