CORRESPONDENTS' VIEWS.
MILITANT PACIFISTS. (To the Editor.) May I inform Mary Oatee "that I have not overlooked the fact that it is fighters, not pacifists, who are ». sponsible for the present war." That, however, is not relevant to anything in my letter. In it, I commented ontfce fact that "the Christian pacifist'* conscience does not allow him to kill kk fellowmen, but is adaptable enoogfc to permit him to avail himself of the freedom, privileges and luxuries won by war." Of course, if it were not for this concession from hie conscience, he could not live. A moment* thought should reveal to him what a ridiculous fellow he is. I know nothing of the German pacifists; whatever they may be has no bearing on anything "in ay letter. I reiterate that" these peaceloving people are, in my opinion, the most militant class in the communitr. Their camp is the refuge of some of the cutist knaves'in the country. Considered as. a class, their bona fides cannot but be under suspicion, and it it to be hoped that those of them excused from front-line service shall be given something to do that shall benefit the country from which they seek to take so much for so little in return.
