MOVEMENTS OF SHIPPING.
After a smooth crossing, the Matson liner Monterey arrived from Sydney shortly before nine o'clock this morning. She was delayed at Sydney for two hours before departure, hut owing to the calm weather was easily able to make up the time. Passengers for Auckland numbered 129 and 108 bags of mail were carried. She has 191 through passengers and a further 40 are sailing from Auckland. The vessel leaves for San Francisco, via Suva, at three o'clock this afternoon. Waiana, which has been delayed at Auckland, sails for Wellington at three o'clock this afternoon. Karepo, which arrived from Napier on Saturday, is scheduled to sail for Westport at the same time. (U.S.S. Co.) The Union Company's Waipiata is scheduled to sail for the south on Friday. Hauturu, which arrived at Onehunga from Wanganui yesterday, is loading today for New Plymouth, Wanganui°and Picton and it is hoped to dispatch her on completion. (N.S.S. Co.) The Anchor Line motor vessel Alexander is expected to leave Nelson on Thursday and is due at Onehunga on Saturday. (N.S.S. Co.) Port Waikato, Watohlin Line motor ship, which left Dunedin on Saturday, is loading at Timaru to-day and is clue to arrive at Auckland on Friday. ARRlVALS—Saturday. .
