MR. A. C. RAE.
An old resident of Thames, Mr. A. C. Rae, died on Saturday, aged 75. Mr. Rae was born at Tauranga and came with his parents to Thames soon after the district* was proclaimed a goldfield. He carried on the business of painter and paperhanger until a few years ago, when ill-health compelled him to give up active work.
In his younger days Mr. Rae took an active interest in all branches of sport and was secretary of the Thames Jockey Club for many years. Since relinquishing the position of secretary he had been a member of the committee of the club and taken a keen interest in its welfare.
