85 YEARS OLD.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED. I Now residing with her daughter, Miss Eva Adams, at Wanganui, Mrs. E. Adams, an old Aucklander, celebrated her eighty-fifth birthday last week. She came to Xew Zealand with her husband, the Rev. T. Adams, by the Lady Jocelyn in 1882. The voyage took 104 days. * They went to the Thames for a few years, but in 1883, thev removed to Auckland and later to Onehunga, where Mrs. Adams is still remembered for the great help she rendered in the district while her hueband had charge of the Presbyterian Church there. Mrs. Adams, who still is most active for her age, is returning to Auckland at the end of the year, upon the retirement of her daughter, who is a Plunket nurse, and intends to reside at Takapuna.
