ADDRESS IN LONDON. ROTARIANS IMPRESSED. Tin* latest i—uc of the •'London Rotarian"' refer- enthusiastically to an address which the New Zealand Higi t omuiis-ioner. Mr. \V. J. .Jordan, gave to members of the London Rotary Club at their luncheon on August 17Jleniiter- and guests present numbered 140. Mr. -ToiCan -poVe on tlic war effort of New Zealand and lie dealt with the subject thoroughly. New Zealand, he said, came into the war as ]>art of the Briti-h Umpire, not to help or be helped, but lo pull her weight. He told of what the Dominion did in the last war.
The unhesitating action of the (Jovei nnient on this occasion in its in--tant declarat ion of war following Britain"- own declaration was described, and the facts were given of the Dominion's war effort in men and food' and other resources up to the present time, and of her commitments. The details he gave of the liuancial provision for men on service and for their dependent- drew frequent applause.
"New Zealand." he concluded, "has entered into the spirit of the war. and you may rest assured that as part of great Commonwealth of Nations the Dominion stand- tirm. giving lo the cau-e for which we are contesting the utmo=t loyally and determination."'
