Liquid Manure
T.O make liquid manure - or manure water as many people term it, get a large barrel; any sort of barrel that will- hold water
will do. If it is at all dirty or oily fill it with water and let it soak for days, then pour the water away. This will remove the surplus oil or whatever there may be, and what is left will not matter. Half fill the barrel with water and suspend in a bag the particular manure you require. Give the bag a shake from time to time. After soaking for three or four days take out the bag, the contents of which can be put on the garden, as they are of "no more, value. Fill the tub up with water ..and it will be about the colour of weak tea, which is about the strength to. use it. ' I By this method about half a sugarbag of soot- Will make a 40-gallon barrel of manure water; a quarter of a sugarbag of fowl or pigeon manure will make 40 gallons. When - using, eaeh plant should get a. good dose. If a large plant and in the open ground half a gallon, is not too much; small plants require less. If ipade weak and applied often, no danger need. be feared on account of the quantity given. 4 . ,
