PONSONBY CRUISING CLUB,

ANNUAL MEETING. Mr. J. J. Mackay. commodore, presided over a good attendance ol members at the 41st, meeting held in the clubhouse, St. Mary s Bay, on Thursday evening. Forty members were on active service, including the patron. Mr. L. Winter, and the vice-commo-dore. Mr. A. Tinsley, the commodore staUd. The club had decided to pay all dues of members and they would still hold their respective offices. The usual fixtures would be carried out aa far as possible with the help of the younger members. The report submitted by the hon. secretary, Mr. H. Claridge, stated that the past season had been one of their beat, entries for all classes totalling 500. The Lipton Cup contest attracted nine entries, the winner being Taotane. representing the Tamaki Yacht Club. The club's regatta was a great success, and their thanks were due to the , president. Captain I. McKinnon. for use of his I vessel for flagship. The club was well represented at the Wellington centennial regatta in January and throe boats went down to the Easter regatta . at Paremata. Mania winning the New Zealand | 14ft. square-bilge championship. It may be necessary to curtail cash prties in the C. H and X i classes, which have fallen off In entries, while other classes have increased. Reference to the loss by death of Messrs. T. Qulnn and Coughlan was made. Thanks were expressed to the lock-r , steward, Mr. Geo. Robertson, and his assistant. Mr. L. Weston, also to all who had assisted in making the season a success. The balance-sheet submitted by Mr. E. H. Ewen showed receipts totalling £427 18/5, leaving * credit balance lor tbe year of £12 7/8. The chle! expenditure was £ 153 for prizes. The assets total £648 17/2 with no liabilities. The report and balance-sheet were adopted ana Messrs. Claridge and Ewen thanked. The following officers were elected for the coming season: Patron. Mr. J. Lobley; commodore. Mr. J J. Mackay: vice-commodore. Mr. R. Wilson; rear-commodore, Mr. V. Salsk; hon. Secretary. Mr. H. Claridge: hon. treasurer. Mr. E. H. Ewen; clubhouse captain. Mr. George Robertson; assistant.. Mr George Weston: committee: Messrs. E. Shannon. J. McKinnon, W. Beerdegen. R. Hayson. N. Matheson (life member), G. Douglas, T. Solomon, p. c. and V. Barker. N. Corkln. W. Cato. C. Madigan. J. Mathleson and H. Robinson. Locker rents were fixed at £2 3/ and the annual subscription at 4/, Juniors I' 6. A trophy was donated by Mr. G. Mackay In memory of his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. R. Mackay. It will be known as the Mackay Memorial Cup and be for competition In the Z class.
