Hospitals.—Holding that the total cost of administration and care of returned soldiers ■hould be borne by the Government from the special war expenses fund, and not by the hospital boards, as proposed, it was decided to make representations through the Municipal Association and members of Parliament along these lines. Pnkekohe-Glemnurray Highway.—A request is to be made to toe Main Highways Board to increase the allocation for this highway to enable metal shoulders to be laid down and other necessary work put in hand. Itinerant Trader.—Complaint was received about a trader travelling from Onehunga to supply foodstuffs to people in Franklin and Raglan counties when business people in these areas could supply all their requirements. It was decided to take up the matter with the Licensing Authority and the Department of Health. The Reading Loan. — The engineer-foreman reported that work under the second schedule of the reading loan would be commenced before the end of the month.
