OPEN MARKET.
DEPUTATION TO COUNCIL. Proposed establishment of an open market in Auckland was further diecussed by the City Council, when views in favour of the proposal were put forward by a deputation. The chief speaker was Mrs. M. Miller, who urged that everything should ibe done to increase production, and pointed out that marketing restrictions prevented the use of second grade fruit. The deputy-Mayor, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, said the representations would receive full consideration, and the matter was referred to the finance committee.
