WAITEMATA COUNTY.
Attention was given to the white ant menace at a meeting of tflie Waiteniata County Council this morning. The county c Jerk in hie report, pointed out that ae the Government has intimated ite intention of introducing legislation, it would seem probable that a different form of building construction would he demanded. Councillor*" saw lantern slides shou-in;: the termites in their natural state and heard methods of extermination explained. A scheme submitted by Mr. H M Troughear on behalf of the SouOh Titiranjn Ratepayers' Association providing for a boat parking area and lockers on the South Titirangi Beach was eiven favourable consideration by the council, and action will probably be taken in the near future.
