SEND IN CHEERIOS.
NEWS SERVICE FOR TROOPS.
All Cheerios for this weeks issne of the Saturday Sports Edition should be handed in to the "Star 9 office by nine o'clock to-night. On two Saturday* in succession now a full page of cheerful messages has been included in the "Eight O'Clock" and it can be easily understood, from comments already made by the troops, with what feelings of pleasure those papers will be received in the camps, in the ships, and in the Air Force stations overseas.
Not only will those New Zealandera, now serving their country to gallantly, receive a message of cheer from their home folks, but with it they will get the full sports news service in the Sport* Edition. Teat sports news is of great Interest to them—it is a close link with home.
The Cheerio news eerviceis provided for a fee of 2/6. That fee coven not only the insertion of a message of 15 words (exclusive or name and rank) but also the sending of the paper to the individual eerving man addressed. For that reason relatives or friends sending in messages should enclose the full military or other overseas address. If it is wished to send , a longer message a fee of 9d,for each additional set of five words is charged. Special forms for Cheerios are available at the "Star" office.' . . . -
