San Marino Declares War On
Britain. United Prees Association.—Copyright. (Reed. 11 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 18. A proclamation in San Marino has the 25 years' war which the tiny republic has waged on paper against Germany. War is now declared on Britain.
The two Captains-Regent, addressing the cheering populace, declared that the army was in eplendid fighting trim. It consists of 39 officers and 950 other ranks.
The independent republic of San Mnrino, which claims to- 'be the oldest State in Europe, is embraced in the area of Italy. A new treaty oi friendship with the kingdom of. Italy was concluded ill • 1697, and renewed in "March, 1030. '..,.'
The frontier line is 24 miles in length, area '38 squiife riiiles "arid population a little over 14,500. The State consists of a craggy mountain 2420 ft high. The militia ■is made up of all able-bodied citizens between the ages of Iβ and 55; with the exception of teachers and etudente.
