SUPREME COURT.

PRISONERS SENTENCED.

Six prisoners were arraigned for sentence before Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court this morning. John Pitman, on a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under 16 years and indecent assault, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. Walter Sidney Charles Harris (Mr. Aekins) was admitted to probation for three years for theft in Auckland. He was also ordered to pay £20 towards the costs of the prosecution. Nine months , imprisonment was imposed upon Rowland Oscar Reeves (Mr. Aekins) for theft in Auckland.

Popo Mokomoko, who committed burglary at Opotiki, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.

Arthur Mitchell Wray (Mr. He-nry) received three months' imprisonment for escaping from lawful custody at Whakatane, the sentence to be concurrent with the term he -is now serving, .v. . '■ On each .of three charges of unlawfully carnally knowing a girl under 16 years, Tipinas Henry Broome Aekins) was sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labour, the sentences to be concurrent,
