Beef. —Quality of ox beef penned was first class. Bidding was not so keen as last week, and the values eased by about 1/ per 1001b. Cows and heifers were in better demand, and late quotations we'-e maintained. Extra choice ox sold to 38/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 35/ to 37,'; ordinary and plain. 31/ to 33/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 30/ to 34/; ordinary cow beef, 24/ to 28/. Extra heavy prime steel's ranged in price from £16 to £18 10/; heavv prime steers, £14 to £I.V. lighter prime steers. £12 10/ to £13 I<V: light prime steers, £11 to £12; small and unfinished steers, £7 to £10 5/.
