STEADY SALE.

WESTFIELD VALUES. BEEF QUOTED LOWER. Last week's rise in beef values was not maintained at the Westfield fat stock sale to-day. A fairly large yarding easily satisfied buyers and ox beef was quoted 1/ per 1001b less at 38/. Cow and heifer beef sold steadily and maintained last week's rate at 34/ per 1001b. Top price for steers was £1S 10/, paid for one of a good line from the Native Department, Rotorua. Cows sold up to £12 10/. A short yarding of calves failed to meet butchers' requirements and the values rose on last week's quotations in consequence. Heavy prime runners sold to £10 11/ and vealers to £7 15/.
