LABOURER FINED £3.
WORE SOLDIER S UNIFORM. Edward* Henry Leedham Quintal, a labourer of 31, who was arrested for drunkenness on Saturday, was found to be wearing the battle dress of a soldier. This was the subject of a further charge of wearing His Majesty's uniform without authority. The magistrate, Mr. J. Morling, remanded Quintal until to-day. This morning Sub-Inspector Calwell said the police were now in possession of the khaki uniform, which would be returned to the military authorities. "The inference is that these men often wear uniforms for their own purposes, and knock about with soldiers, and if any treating is to be done, then they are in," said Mr. Calwell. Quintal was convicted and discharged for drunkenness, and on the second charge was fined £3.
