NAZI CONSUL.
THREAT TO EDITOR. Attempts At Intimidation In United States. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Reed. 2 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 16. The "New York Post" features the first of a series of articles entitled, "Men Against America," headed "Nazi Consul's Threats —American Editor Warned of Reprisals by Hitler." Charges are supported by a photostate of a letter from the German Consul at New Orleans, Von Spiegel, who attempted in February of 193S to intimidate and coerce the editor of a proAmerican German-language newspaper, the "Texas Free Press." The letter declared that Germany in future would act drastically against international newspaper propaganda containing lies.
