SYDNEY APPEAL.

LORD MAYOR'S FUND. A Press Association cablegram announces that the liord Mayor of Sydney has launched a fund to" assist Great Britain's suffering population. Gifte immediately forthcoming brought yesterday's total to £15,000. The sum of £130,000 has been subscribed bv Victorians since last Thursday, and money is still pouring in. Melbourne newspapers have opened funds, which have eo far reached £22.000. Sydney City Council and County Council have each contributed £25.000 to the fund to aid the victims of German bombing in Britain, 6ays a cable message from Sydney.
