DEMANDS ENDORSED.
LABOITR BRANCH PROTEST. Endorsement of demands made by the Otahuhu branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants on August 22 has been expressed in a resolution passed by the Mount Albert branch of the Labour party. The resolution reads: — "That this branch endorsee the resolution, and all the six points therein, passed by the Otahuhu branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants on August 22, 1940, and requests Mr. P. Fraser, in view of the endorsements of the Otahuhu resolution already passed by the Hutt workshops, the .Otahuhu branch of the Railway Tradesmen's Association, the Auckland branch of the Xew Zealand Engine Drivers, Firemen and Cleaners' Association and the Auckland and Helensville branches of the A.S.R.S., to withdraw his statement published in a newspaper on August 23, 1940, referring to 'a small group of irresponsibles,' and to reply to the resolutions in a manner that members of the Labour party have a right to expect from the leader."
