RAILWAY REUNION.

HUNDRED MEMBERS ATTEND. Over 100 members attended the annual reunion of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Railway Officers' Institute, held in the Newmarket - Social Hall on Saturday evening. Mr. J. W. Shepherd occupied the chair. In response to the toast "The Department," Mr. J. Sawers, assistant general manager of railways, emphaeieed the cordial relations existing ■between the Railway Department and the institute, and also referred, to the sterling work being carried out toy the railway operating group serving overseas. Other speakers included Mr. R. Carroll, Mr J W. Shepherd, Mr. W. E. Kane, Mr. L. V. Carmine, Mr. J. Dumbleton, Mr. W. W. Chitty, Mr. R. Ledez. Mr. C. H. Bray, Mr. G. L. Brown and Mr. K. D. Croft. An enjoyable musical programme included items by Mr. F. Carlson, Mr. P. Te Awhitu, Mr. AV. Thompson, Mr. L. Shep/herd and Mr. W. Bray.
