EAST INDIES MISSION. "Aim Is One Of G.reatest Importance." ""(■Reed. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 12. ~~ A message from Batavia, says Mr. ~-W. R. Kobayashi, special Japanese envoy to the Dutch East Indies, and 1 his mission have arrived. ~~-Mr. Kobayashi said that Japan attached the greatest importance to the friendship of the Dutch Indies. "The aim of my mission," "he said, "is promote closer economic ties between two countries on a solid foundation JJJEff" friendship. ® "The Dutch East Indies are endowed ■•with exceedingly rich natural resources - and extensive fertile fields, while Japan is highly industrialised, importing manufactured goods, because of which Japan places great expectations on Dutch East Indies resources. "1 strongly desire to contribute in the Far Eastern sphere towards world and the welfare of the people ; in a spirit of mutual assistance and » sympathetic understanding."
