READY RESPONSE.
Melbourne Fund For Relief Of Bomb Victims. EFFORT OPENS TO-DAY. (Reed. 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The City Council will give £25,000 to the fund opened by the Lord Mayor for the relief of victims of German bombing raids in Britain. When the fund is officially inaugurated at a public meeting to-day, the Lord Mayor will be able to announce that £40,000 is already in -hand. The proposal to establish the fund has received a prompt response from Victorians and thousands of pounds have already been received.
